Photographer - Monochrome & Conceptual Imagery
As a self-taught photographer with over twenty years of experience, specializing in monochrome photography, my work explores the interplay of light and dark, often using hands as expressive vessels of storytelling, emotion, and time. I focus on creating concept-driven, impactful imagery that evokes reflection and feeling. Though often rooted in shadow, my photographs seek moments of clarity, meaning, and quiet hope.
Through years of practice behind the camera, I have developed my photographic voice through a balance of independent exploration and structured learning. Classes, workshops, and hands-on experiences in portraiture, night photography, creativity, still life, and landscapes have helped me refine my technique while broadening my artistic perspective.
I am an active member of the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club of Newtown, where I have served as vice president, president, and now press secretary. Through the club, Iam also a member oft h e Photographic Society of America (PSA).
My photographs have been exhibited at the Fairfield History Museum, the Cyrenius H. Booth Library, the Wilton Library, the MAC Gallery in downtown Milford, and Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo, as well as in numerous Flagpole Photographers exhibitions within Newtown. I have received commendations from the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club, Milford Arts Council, Wilton Library Association, Beardsley Zoo, the Photographic Society of America, and the New England Camera Club Council (NECCC).
My full-time work as Education and Outreach Coordinator for a local children's non-profit has given me experience with light bookkeeping and the design of flyers, presentations, and content for social media. In my spare time, I enjoy other creative outlets - including origami, an art form I have loved since childhood, and hand-crafting greeting cards for family, friends, and charitable causes.
