Pam is a mostly self-taught glass artist. Pam has been working with glass since 2013, first making glass beads but quickly shifting to glass fusing, making plates, bowls, ornaments, pendants, and art. Glass fusing involves cutting sheets of art glass and layering them in a kiln, firing them at high temperatures to create a single piece of glass. Practical pieces such as plates and bowls are fired again at a lower temperature to "slump" the glass on a mold to achieve the desired shape. Frequently, grinding or sanding in between is necessary. A practicing attorney, Pam finds that working with glass is a wonderful way to create, resulting in something that is both functional and, hopefully, beautiful. She owns Funky Tulip Glassworks in Woodbury, CT.
