"My passion for portraiture began in kindergarten. Originally from a small, rural town in Southern Idaho, I moved to Manhattan with my life-long friend and artist Mark Gerber, to expand my career as a commercial illustrator.
"Many years of invaluable professional and creative experience, many national recognitions and choice clients later, I continue to be thrilled by the challenge and privilege of creating an almost magical air of life.
"My studio is in Connecticut, but my clientele is limitless. Although it is preferred to meet clients and their subjects personally and take my own photo reference, as well as observe and create sketches and studies from life, I have created comforting posthumous portraits. My paintings present a form of immortality to be shared with the present and future generations of friends and family.
"I work to create a complete portrait, not only my subject's appearance, accompanied by detailed clues to their likes and dislikes, but the very essence of their being; the part of them that we all share and identify with; that elusive part of life that can only be conveyed through fine, extraordinary paintings." —Stephanie Gerber
